Religion - Past and Present

For those of you who might know me, I'm against all religions; majority of wars are based on religion, and not on greed. I have noticed a few weird things recently, and thought I'd share them with anyone who decides to read this. Yes, I'm just as bored as you are.

Hindu Deities
Since January, there have been two or three news reports about children born that people believe are reincarnations of Hindu deities. We've had the girl born with four arms and four legs, and, more recently, the girl with two faces. Call me weird, but I don't think this is a coincidence. For two children to be born into families who follow the same religion, and geographically close, and in the same millenium, both with resembelences to deities... A coincidence it just cannot be.

Egyptian, Greek, and other "Ancient" Religions
Up to about ten years ago, everyone would have claimed them to be mythological, a thing of the past. With the rise of neo-paganism (viz. wicca), aspects of these religions have resurfaced. Majority of the covens that call themselves Wiccan, have Aphrodite as their lead deity. (They also claim a feminine/masculine balance in all things, yet they tend to only worship female deities. I think something went wrong there.)
Looking through the list of Egyptian deities (my strong point), there are over 170, many of which have different names; there are over 300 deity names; the average person has not heard of all of them. Are they still mythology, even though they are still worshipped?

Modern Religions and Ancient Relgions
As a child, I was brought up Catholic in a Church of England family (with the odd Jew and Johovah's Witness thrown in). I was told that all ancient religions are myths. How do we know that the religion we follow today, wil not be called a myth in years to come? How can we be so sure that the ancient people (who were well ahead of their time compared to Medieval Europe, viz. the UK) did not follow the true religion?
And why are we so sure there is a deity, or more than one, out there? What makes us so sure? Belief? I think not. To believe in something you need to have solid proof. You think the Bible is proof there is a Christian God? It isn't. Who wrote the Bible? God. How do we know God exists? The Bible says so. Yea? Then get a grip.
Do we have solid proof there is any sort of deity? No. The classic reply to that is "So how did we get here, Miss Smarty Ass?" Well that is easy to answer. We came here because of a series of events. The Big Bang, the formation of the Milky Way (named after the chocolate bar), the formation of our Sun, the coming together of rocks and dust to form the planet... You get the idea. What if one thing went wrong? We'd be dust, or the light particles coming off a supernova. Something nearly did go wrong.
There are four main forces in the Universe. Gravity is the weakest. Any stronger, and the Universe would have collapsed in on itself; any weaker, and nothing would have formed. The other three forces are so much stronger. This has actually had physicists baffled. Some may say its the deity controlling it. Believe that, and you're probably also seeing pigs fly around the sky in little hovercrafts.

I'm not saying give up your religion. I'm just saying, maybe rethink it. What definitive, unarguable proof is there, that proves to the world, that there is at least one deity out there? Give me that proof, and I'll convert. I'll give up the crystals, the candles, and the circles, and take up whatever religion you like. Just give me the proof. Then tell me why the ancient religions were not the true ones.
